Under Armour as a brand has been mired in a bit of a swamp lately. Their number one athlete Steph Curry has had a challenging run throughout his sneaker career and this year the team is awful and it doesn’t allow the Baltimore based brand a chance to even try to really showcase anything. Their second highest profile athlete is Cam Newton who had a quiet off-season and football players have had uneven success at selling shoes. Next up on the docket then is Joel Embiid, and the traditional statement is that ‘Big Men Can’t Sell Shoes’. Joel also has had an injury history and this season might just be lost for the team. With that UA is prepping his signature shoe, the Embiid One for an October 2, 2020 drop. Check out the up close view of the sneaker, it’s kind of plain, but that might work as a starting point for a brand that could use any little bump it can get.
