AF1’s are a classic and iconic sneaker. It has become a staple in sneaker culture as a must have shoe. Many people start their collections with a classic AF1. When I got my first paycheck from my first job, I cashed my check and went to DTLR to purchase a pair of fresh white AF1’s. The hardest thing about owning these shoes was preventing creases from forming. Once you got a crease, it was time for a new pair. But at some point, the hype died down for AF1’s. Was it Nelly’s song that played them out or the t-shirts with sponge bob where it said “Stomping in My Air Force 1’s”. The branding got cheap and too many variations from Nike were released. Now there are some nice AF1’s outside of the classics but some of these variations just suck. Take a look at 10 of some of the worst designed AF1’s – in my opinion. Let me know what you think.
Air Force 1 Volt Covered
The Nike Air Force 1 Flyknit 2.0
Flyknit should not be on this sneaker. The material takes away from the originality and class of the AF1.
Nike Air Force 1 Misplaced Swoosh
The multiple swooshes was unnecessary and too over the top. It’s not slick, it’s too much.
The Nike Air Force 1 Flyknit 2.0 “University Red”
Nike Air Force 1 Low Tie Dye
I see that Nike has been big with the tie dye trends, but this was a miss. They look more like multi-colored tiger stripes.
Air Force 1 Low Girls “TuTu”
Adding tutu’s to customs can be cool and cute if done correctly but not on this leather low top sneaker. Also the tutu material should have been more like tulle.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Worldwide”
There is just wayyy too much going on here- I’m confused
Nike Air Force 1 Low P(HER)SPECTIVE
The downside to this show is the velvet and iridescent swoosh. Without the iridescent swoosh, the sneaker could have been okay and with the right outfit it has so much potential.
Nike Air Force 1 Shadow
The colors are not right for this shape of a sneaker. The double swoosh also isnt appealing.
